Buyer guide
How to verify a Chinese cosmetics supplier and product offer.
Verification is a sequence of checks, not a single badge. Buyers should connect the legal counterparty, payment recipient, product source, commercial offer, and shipment records before committing funds.
Confirm the legal counterparty
Match payment and order records
Verify the exact product offer
Identify who is selling to you
Request the supplier's registered Chinese company name, unified social credit code, business license, registered address, contact details, and the name that will appear on the contract and invoice. A factory, trading company, brand distributor, and sourcing service can all be legitimate, but their roles should be represented accurately.
Where appropriate, review official registration information or use a qualified verification service. Confirm that the company status and business scope are consistent with the proposed transaction.
Match payment details to the transaction
The quotation, purchase order, invoice, contract, and payment instructions should identify the same commercial counterparty or clearly document any approved collection arrangement. Treat an unexplained last-minute bank-account change as a reason to stop and verify through a known contact.
Use a payment method and written terms appropriate to the order value and relationship. Keep confirmation of deposits, balances, conditions, and refund or cancellation terms.
Verify products at the version level
Confirm the complete product name, shade, size, model, barcode, market version, packaging language, case quantity, and current product photos. This matters for fast-changing packaging, limited editions, and items sold in domestic and international versions.
Request samples when needed and record the approved reference. Ask what supplier, channel, or brand-side evidence is available for the offered goods without assuming that one document proves every product in a mixed order.
Keep verification active through fulfillment
Verification continues after payment. Track supplier delivery, warehouse receipt, quantities, carton condition, packing list, substitutions, and final shipping handover against the confirmed order.
For higher-risk or custom orders, consider independent inspection or professional advice appropriate to the value and product. No individual check eliminates all commercial risk.
What buyers usually ask
Does a business license prove that cosmetics are authentic?
No. A business license helps identify the legal company, but product authenticity and supply rights require separate product-, channel-, and order-specific checks.
What should I do if payment details change?
Pause payment and verify the change through an established contact and written company records. Do not rely only on the message that introduced the new account.
Is this guide legal or regulatory advice?
No. It is a practical sourcing overview. Buyers should confirm current import, cosmetic, tax, and labeling obligations with official authorities or qualified advisers in the destination market.
Can Anmua help prepare a product shortlist?
Yes. Share your destination, sales channel, target price, categories, preferred brands, and estimated order volume for a focused sourcing discussion.
How do I request current commercial terms?
Contact Hana or Ivy for current product availability, minimum quantities, packaging information, and a B2B quotation.
